This is an authentic Chinese abacus that was used in the 20th century. The Abacus being an ingenious calculator has been used in China for over a thousand years. Its accuracy and speed remains extraordinary till this day of age. This particular piece has all wood frame and beads, and bamboo bars. The beads are substantial, hand-cut pieces that are smooth and perfect for frequent use and fast movements. This is a fully functional piece that was actually used, not a decorative export toy. The abacus is a recent scientific relic that represents a piece of Chinese history and the intelligence of its people. In excellent condition with no beads missing or structural damage.
